Matar Paneer Pulao | Peas Paneer Pulao | मटर पनीर पुलाव

Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 1 medium onion sliced in wedges
  • ½ cup frozen green peas
  • 10 oz (½ package Bapu) paneer, cubed
  • 2 tbsp oil or ghee for frying

Dry Spices

  • 5 cloves black cardamom
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 dried red chilis
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp salt

Method

  1. Wash rice and soak for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a deep pot and sauté onions until golden brown.
  3. Add dry spices, still until cumin seeds begin to pop.
  4. Add peas and fried paneer. Cook for a few minutes.
  5. Add rice, 2 cups of water, and bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to medium. Cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Cook rice on low for 15 minutes.

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
