Matar Paneer Pulao | Peas Paneer Pulao | मटर पनीर पुलाव
Ingredients
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 1 medium onion sliced in wedges
- ½ cup frozen green peas
- 10 oz (½ package Bapu) paneer, cubed
- 2 tbsp oil or ghee for frying
Dry Spices
- 5 cloves black cardamom
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 dried red chilis
- 1 inch cinnamon stick
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp salt
Method
- Wash rice and soak for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Heat oil in a deep pot and sauté onions until golden brown.
- Add dry spices, still until cumin seeds begin to pop.
- Add peas and fried paneer. Cook for a few minutes.
- Add rice, 2 cups of water, and bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to medium. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Cook rice on low for 15 minutes.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
