Prawn Masala | प्रॉन्स मसाला

Ingredients

  • 225 g (½ pound) peeled shrimp
  • 2 bell peppers (chopped into 1 inch squares)
  • 1 bell pepper (sliced thinly)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp onion (minced)
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • ½ tsp garlic paste

Dry Spices

  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp red chili powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric

Method

  • In a frying pan, heat oil on medium heat. Add onion and stir for 3 minutes.
  • Once onion is light brown, add garlic, ginger paste, and dry ingredients. Cook for one minute.
  • Add a half cup of water and cover.
  • Cook until all the water evaporates and masala leaves oil. Roughly two minutes.
  • Add prawns and sour cream. Stir until sour cream is combined.
  • Add water and cover until shrimps are tender.
  • Add bell pepper squares. Simmer for 2 minutes to let the peppers soften.

Garnish with thinly sliced peppers and serve with rice or roti.
